Speech Development Exercises

Improving speech by learning short poems and Tongue Twisters

Calligraphy and Creative Writing

We are also proud to use calligraphy techniques to develop writing skills. Calligraphy stimulates neuronal activity, helping children develop a broader vocabulary and write more comprehensive texts.

Understanding and Retelling Stories

We use many methods to improve children's understanding of stories they listen to in class and then encourage them to retell the stories in their own words.

Reading and Writing

We use original learning materials and a structured, step-by-step approach to develop confident reading and writing skills. We work closely with the developer of this approach, which has proved successful in supporting children’s progress. Children explore sounds and letters, learn how words are formed and practise reading with understanding. Many children begin to read confidently within just a few weeks. This method also supports clear speech, phonological awareness and a growing interest in language.

Speech and Language Development

We work on articulation and use a range of speech and language development strategies. Children learn to recognise words and sounds through singing, drama and dance.

Creating stories

After learning new vocabulary, it is time to consolidate the material covered through creative activities, including creating stories.
