Russian GCSE Preparation

Back to Home page

Our Russian GCSE programme covers the full GCSE curriculum and develops the four essential language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

But our lessons go beyond exam preparation.

Our aim is not simply to prepare students for the Russian GCSE examination, but to develop confident, articulate and independent learners with skills they can transfer to other subjects at school and use throughout their education.

We use Russian as a tool for developing transferable academic skills that students can apply across their education. They learn to structure written assignments and essays, analyse information critically, express and justify their opinions, present their work confidently and develop independent learning skills.
Our teaching incorporates a variety of techniques, including visual mnemonics, discussion, presentations, creative and academic writing, reading comprehension and critical analysis.
Through Russian, students also explore topics from geography, history, culture, literature, science, anatomy and physiology, music and the arts. This broadens their vocabulary, general knowledge and cultural awareness while encouraging intellectual curiosity.
